Part 7: A Day In The Life Onboard The ISS

This is a wonderful visit inside the International Space Station. Astronaut Garrett Reisman, Expedition 17 flight engineer, films parts of his day May 7th 2008. Ride along as Reisman narrates the sights and sounds of a “typical” day at 17500 mph 225 miles above the Earth. Our thanks to Garrett for the video, nicely done, and to NASA for making it all possible. NASA HD page: www.nasa.gov There are some great vids here, hopefully Garrett’s will be posted soon! Hi jim, the simple answer is no. Possible lends to theoretical, so as a thought experiment.. maybe. I would not want to pilot that ship though. Future Kerbal space program experiment?

  2. Jimkid118 says:

is it possible for the ISS to land back on earth?

  3. TheJamesDVid says:

One thing is for certain thought, it would be the most expensive one in the world.

  4. watchnasatvcom says:

Wow! That gave me laugh in half. Seriously, my guess is as long as you wear a condom and contain the “exhaust gasses” no one would be the wiser. 6 months is a long time…..

  5. TheJamesDVid says:

Question. Can the crew on the ISS masturbate. I know it would be possible but does Nasa have a “please do not blast off policy”?

  6. warstomper says:

Wow this was a cool series there should be more

I agree whole heartedly 100%. Mike Massimito is also pretty cool. Mike Finke is a little more sciencey, but a good host as well. Check out benwl’s channel for the old saturday morning science vids.

  8. watchnasatvcom says:

No, but I’m trying really hard to get NASA to understand the importance of videos like this.

  9. CatNasty says:

    Coolest astronaut ever.

  10. JizzTechCo says:

Shaving up side down? Now that’s awesome

  11. FastSpiner says:

    Very Interesting!
We want more! >>> like How do you use the bathroom? How do you sneeze? How do you shower? How do you sleep with that engine noise in the background? Do you ever get to see the moon?

  12. 72master says:

you seem like the fucking coolest astronaut ever

  13. l3R1CK70P says:

I cant belive that someone watch justin bieber rather than this. 10380 watches? WTF? People on earth getting dumb :(

  14. KimCheeWarrior says:

im surprised that it ended so suddenly like that, no goodbye, no “thanks for watching”, it just ends with him exercising. i thought for sure there was another part to this so i tried searching for it but found nothing. oh well, still awesome though, probably the most charismatic person ive seen hosting these iss tours so far.

  15. MacEwanMouse says:

You don’t. All trash, and dirty clothes even are sent back down and purposely burnt up on reentry into the atmosphere. Dr. Reisman explains it a lot better in Part 6

  16. lagswitcherupper says:

You are an inspiration. Also how do you wash your clothes in space? haha

  17. jam4798 says:

  18. MegaEssjay says:

Thank you so much for taking your time in showing all of us ‘down below’ or for me personally ‘Down Under’… ha ha…. This is far better than watching any box office movie. I am in awe of all of the work you are doing up there, and it really shows the unity of countries working together, speaking each others language…. I could watch this over and over again. You are a great ‘bloke’ (aussie slang) and i just cant tell you enough how much i have enjoyed watching this….. ` from Sammy in Oz
