Considering that Wikipedia engages in censorship in blocking any non liberal users. They should not be criticizing the U.S.

the internet is true freedom, without bullshit ideology and politics, a mirror not a lot of politicians and shareholders can look into..
and to top it all off: they cannot stop torrents and p2p, the no. 1 source of illegally downloaded content. even if they manage to shut down or block a site like tpb, there are distributed search engines and clients all over the place.. so people will still be able to download ‘copyrighted’ material if they look around a bit.
not to mention, according to a lot of studies, ‘piracy’ actually helps music and software sales most of the time.
what’s funny about this sopa thing is that if i post a link to a ripped mp3 on facebook, they can take the whole thing down just because of that, and without going to court or anything. not that i like facebook or anything, but just imagine.. the magnitude of this kind of stupidity is simply unfathomable.
this basically gives companies free reign over the internet (and not just in the us), and will eventually lead to total chaos.
it’s so funny how the us blames iran and other ‘not free’ countries for censoring the internet, yet this sopa thing is going on full force. i have nothing against american people, i quite like you guys, but your leaders are complete assholes. sorry.
and this not only hurts the internet (imo the most awesome thing in this century) and your economy, but it’s an amazingly bad example, which other idiots will follow, i.e. the shitheads here in the eu.
